ABOUT STEVE’S DRIVING SCHOOL

Hi, I’m Steve, a friendly, patient and fully qualified driving instructor based in Blackpool.

I offer driving lessons across Blackpool and the surrounding FY area, with lessons designed around you, your confidence and the way you learn best.

I started Steve’s Driving School because I wanted to offer something a little more personal. Learning to drive shouldn’t feel like you’re just being taken through the same routine as everyone else.

Every learner is different, and I believe your driving lessons should reflect that.

CLIENT-CENTRED DRIVING LESSONS

I use a Client-Centred Learning approach, which basically means you’re involved in your own learning rather than simply being told what to do.

We’ll work together to develop your skills, understand why things happen on the road and build your confidence at a pace that suits you.

The aim isn’t just to get you through your driving test.

I want you to become a safe, confident and independent driver who is ready to deal with real-world driving once you’re out there on your own.

CALM, PATIENT AND SUPPORTIVE

It’s completely normal to feel nervous when you’re learning to drive.

Some people take to driving straight away. Others need a little more time to build their confidence. Neither is a problem.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to driving after a break or you’ve had lessons before and struggled with confidence, I’ll work with you patiently and without pressure.

I’m also a Driving Test Nerves Specialist with LofaWaytoPass, so if nerves or anxiety around driving or your test are holding you back, we can work on that too.

LOCAL DRIVING LESSONS AROUND BLACKPOOL

Having taught extensively around Blackpool, I know the local roads and the challenges learners regularly come across.

I provide driving lessons across Blackpool, Bispham, Cleveleys, Carleton, Layton, North Shore, Anchorsholme and Poulton.

From busy town-centre traffic and the Promenade to residential roads, larger roundabouts and faster roads, you’ll gradually experience a wide range of driving situations as your confidence and ability develop.

I’m also very familiar with the roads and areas commonly used around Blackpool Driving Test Centre, so you’ll have plenty of experience dealing with the types of roads and situations you may encounter on your driving test.

YOUR TRAINING CAR

You’ll learn to drive in a modern black Suzuki Swift.

It’s comfortable, easy to drive and fitted with modern safety features, making it an ideal car for learning and building confidence.

KEEPING MY OWN SKILLS UP TO DATE

Learning doesn’t stop when you become a driving instructor.

I regularly invest in my own continued professional development to keep my knowledge and coaching skills up to date.

I’m proud to be a Brand Ambassador for Knowleagblee Instructor Training, a Driving Test Nerves Specialist with LofaWaytoPass and a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA).

These connections give me access to ongoing training, ideas and developments within the driver training industry that I can bring into your lessons.

MORE THAN JUST PASSING YOUR TEST

Of course, getting that pass certificate is the goal we’re working towards.

But passing your test is really just the beginning.

My job is to help you develop the skills, confidence and judgement you’ll need when there’s no driving instructor sitting next to you.
